What is a hedge trimmer?
A hedge trimmer has a blade similar to that of a chainsaw and is used for cutting bushes, shrubs and hedges. All of the models within our range are designed for heavy domestic and semi-professional use; offering great durability, safety and comfort, even when using for extended periods of time.
How Do i choose which hedge trimmer i need?
The following aspects should be considered when deciding which model best suits your needs:
- Blade dimensions - Generally speaking, smaller hedges should be cut with a blade that is 46cm long or less. Medium-sized hedges are best cut with a blade that is between 47-56cm, whilst larger hedges require a blade that is 57cm or longer. The width of a blade describes the size of the gap between the teeth; indicating the maximum diameter that the hedge trimmer can cut.
- Power - Petrol-powered machines tend to be more powerful than electric corded models. Cordless electric hedge trimmers are available, however they are low-powered.
- Safety - Does the machine have a hand guard, automatic brake, vibration reduction, etc? Do you require these safety features?
