We stock everything from lightweight, portable models to seriously heavy duty machines. For drilling and chiseling tasks, we have SDS-Plus drills up to 5kg and SDS-Max drills over 5kg. For breaking tasks, we have SDS-Max breakers which are ideal for light demolition tasks, such as breaking concrete, stone or masonry. We also supply heavy breakers which are designed to be used for major applications and exterior work, such as road breaking.
There are several things that you should consider when deciding which type of SDS drill or breaker will best suit your needs:
SDS means ‘Special Direct System’. When Bosch first designed it, SDS referred to the German phrase ‘steck, dreh, sitzt’, which translates as ‘insert, twist, fits’. Nowadays, however, it is known as “Spannen Durch System”, which means 'clamping system'. SDS drills are much more powerful than regular hammer drills. They have a pneumatic hammering action which pushes from behind the drill bit in order to strike the material. They can be used for normal drilling tasks and chiseling.
