Combination Squares & Bevels

What's the Difference Between a Combination Square & a Bevel?

A combination square has a straight ruled blade and a head which includes a spirit level. It can be used for numerous tasks including measuring and transferring 90° and 45° angles, approximating level surfaces, and gauging depth. A bevel is the same as a combination square, except the blade can rotate and lock in place, so you can measure and transfer angles of any size.
